WHERE THE WORLD COMES TOGETHER

The Burma Center has been supporting the Burmese American community and the entire Springfield and Battle Creek area for years, bringing the dream of a truly multicultural society right into our neighborhoods.

The Burma Center directly assists the hundreds of local Burmese American residents with advocacy, employment, translation, health and wellness, youth programs, and more. The cultural transition would be much more difficult without these services, and without the community spirit centered around the Gathering Place, a large facility (formerly Springfield High School and the BC Area Math & Science Center). The Gathering Place has become very important to the mission, and this supportive place is in need of your support.

Make a donation to create a revelation.

The Gathering Place is a central meeting location for the local Burmese population as well as a number of other local organizations, creating a sense of belonging for all members of the community. This is where bonds are formed, barriers are broken, and our entire community is strengthened. However, after years of use, $3 million dollars worth of investments in the structure are needed, including a new HVAC system, parking lot, roof, updates to the courtyard and ADA accessibility. With your financial support, we can make these critical updates and continue providing the community a multicultural hub.

WHEN YOU GIVE, YOU ALSO SAY “YOU’RE WELCOME”

By helping The Burma Center make the necessary repairs to The Gathering Place, you're making an investment in the community that is guaranteed to pay off for generations. Almost a quarter of the annual income is earned by renting out this facility and providing services, which means a renovated building will help The Burma Center continue to become more self-sustaining and welcome all members of the community.

Once you've made the decision to make a difference, giving is as easy as it is rewarding. Visit BurmaCenterUSA.org/donate and make a donation today, and we will respond with your tax deduction receipt. The Burma Center is a registered 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. Once the needed funds have been raised, The Burma Center will be updating the community on construction progress and both the immediate and lasting impact of all programs and services.
