Language Access
ဟယ်လို Hello! Myanmar (also known as Burma) is a diverse nation with 135 distinct ethnic groups. Burmese is the official language of Myanmar and is the native language of the Bamar ethnic group.
However, many members of other ethnic groups do not speak Burmese as a first language. Most Burmese residents residing in southwest Michigan are of the Chin ethnic group. For this reason, the Burma Center also offers services in some of the Chin languages/dialects.
