Equitable Access to Education & Career Readiness

To support youth, young adults, and families in their formal educational experience and to prepare/equip them for post-secondary education and/or career entry.

Objective 1: Ensure all Burmese students and parents have access to language interpretation services while engaging K-12 schools and post-secondary institutions.

  • Increase collaboration with BCPS, Lakeview, and Calhoun Area Career Center School Liaisons.

  • Increase interpretations/translation contracts and/or relationships with school districts..

Objective 2: Provide students with supplementary academic and social emotional supports.

  • Increase access to the THRIVE Program and continue to provide the elementary reading program, and tutoring, after-school & summer programs for K-12 students..

Objective 3: Equip youth with necessary leadership skills.

  • Increase access to culturally sensitive leadership programs that equip emerging leaders with skills in advocacy, governance, and civic engagement.
